Freelance writing can be a fickle career – one of feast or famine. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. You can land freelance writing jobs and consistently earn $100-$200 per day by doing the following:

Freelance writing jobs encompass more than just writing assignments. For example, there is social networking. Many clients have no clue about how to use these services, or how to set them up.
If you’re a freelance writer and you’re not involved in social networking, ie, Twitter, MySpace, Facebook – learn. You broaden your skill set, which allows you to offer the service to clients.
Many clients have a “just handle it” attitude when it comes to new media services like social networking, SEO copywriting, pay per click marketing, etc. Their eyes glaze over and they just want to outsource it and be done with it.
Less Competition from Other Freelance Writers
Another thing about offering new media services is that it lessens the competition because there are fewer freelance writers who choose to offer these services.
Market Every Day
Make marketing for freelance writing jobs the first thing you do every day. Even if it’s just sending out five email queries, or posting a simple ad on Craigslist.
If you get in the habit of consistently marketing, freelance writing gigs will seem to magically appear. But, it’s not magic. It’s simply the law of averages.
Many freelance writers look for freelance writing jobs when they have no work. Then, they “blitz market.” This is rarely effective. You will always lead a feast or famine existence if you market like this. The most effective way to land freelance writing jobs is to “drip market.” A little every day goes a long way.
Charge a Decent Rate
Many freelance writers start with bottom-of-the-barrel rates hoping that it will entice clients on board.
And, while this tactic may work, you will find it hard to raise rates on these clients down the road. Clients don’t like rate increases. If you start our charging $10 for a 500-word article, how hard do you think it’s going to be to get those clients to pay $35 – even if it’s a year later?
So, start out charging a decent rate for your freelance writing services from the get go, and target those clients who can pay that.
Marketing is time consuming, so you might as well spend that time landing clients who can pay you a decent wage for freelance writing jobs from the start. Otherwise, find another career because it won’t be worth your time.
If you do these three things, you will have no problem making $100-$200 per day working from home as a freelance writer – and probably much more.
