Its purpose is to help readers build their faith and act on it more effectively in their personal lives, their congregations, and the world. Payment for features is negotiated when the article is assigned.

Vista: Journal of Holy Living is an eight-page weekly periodical that supports Christians in living as fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. Inspirational fiction or nonfiction (500-550 words). The Christian Science Monitor is an international news organization that delivers thoughtful, global coverage via its website, weekly magazine, daily news briefing, email newsletters, and mobile site. We’re interested in stories of national import from all over the country. Basic rate for a story is $200 to $225.

Our Little Friend (OLF) has been published continuously since 1890 as a spiritually-oriented magazines written for children. They are given each week to the children who attend Sabbath School (like Sunday School) at a Seventh-day Adventist Church. Stories must be written from a Christian perspective and be consistent with Seventh-day Adventist beliefs and practice. We will pay between $25 and $50 for a story depending on the excellence of the manuscript, length, and other editorial considerations. We purchase one-time magazine rights and electronic rights.

Outreach magazine is the gathering place of ideas, insights and stories for Christian churches focused on reaching out to their communitylocally and globallywith the love of Christ. Freelance writers must be experienced professionals who understand the magazines mission and editorial philosophy. Outreach magazine is always on the lookout for ideas and stories, as well as experienced writers and interviewers. Average word count: 1,500-2,500 words for feature articles. Payment: $375-$500 for unsolicited articles.

As the official weekly magazine of the Assemblies of God, the Pentecostal Evangel fulfills the threefold mission of the church. Publishes articles on: How to better understand the Bible, develop a richer prayer life, live more victoriously, overcome personal problems, etc. Article length. From 500 to 1,200 words. Pay is 6 cents a word for first-rights articles by freelance writers. Payment is made upon acceptance.

Payment per article varies and is paid on publication. Article length: 600-1,000 words. Payment: 10 to 15 cents/word.

Sojourners Magazine covers theological, social, cultural and political topics, and provides resources for spiritual discussion, study and renewal. The length of features is generally 1,200-2,800 words. The editors also publish commentaries (400-600 words) on current events and reviews of books, film, and/or music (500 to 1,000 words). Payment: $50-$400/article.

St. Anthony Messenger is a monthly, general-interest, family-oriented Catholic magazine. It is written and edited largely for people living in families or the family-like situations of Church and community. Feature articles are 2,000-2,500 words. Payment is 20 cents per word upon acceptance.
