Indy’s Child is always looking for talented, experienced freelance writers to enhance our magazine. Our general goal is to have a good mix of fun and substantive local stories of interest to local parents. Indy’s Child magazine has a broad circulation throughout Indianapolis, so it’s important to us that our sources reflect our readership. Payment: Features 600-800 words: $60-$100.

WestCoast Families Magazine is a free, full-colour, full-gloss family and parenting magazine, published 8 times per year in British Columbia, Canada. Our publication promotes the unique, vibrant West Coast lifestyle popular among todays parents. Story length can be anywhere from 600 to 1,200 words, and will be set by the editor. Payment is negotiated once a proposal has been accepted, and is based on the length of the article, the amount of research involved and the experience of the writer.

Thriving Family focuses on marriage and parenting from a biblical perspective. Most articles address marriage and the needs of families with 4- to 12-year-olds in the home, but parenting preschoolers and teens are not ignored. Thriving Family includes 1,200- to 1,500-word articles that include well-known personalities in the Christian world. Payment begins at 25-cents per word.

Simply Family Magazine is a popular, monthly family lifestyle magazine designed to be a free resource for parents and families in Billings, Montana and the surrounding areas. Readership is largely composed of families with children ages newborn through beginning college. Articles submitted should address current parenting issues with Billings tie-ins whenever possible. Payment is made upon publication. Fees vary upon length, depth of piece and whether its an original manuscript, submitted, assigned, or if it is a reprint.

The editors of San Diego Family Magazine are looking for informative articles related to parenting, health, education, and family life, with special topics year-round: babies, arts & crafts/activities, holidays, special needs, family travel in Southern California, finance, nutrition, teens, camping, parties, green living, and home and garden. Pays upon publication. No spec assignments. Most stories should be 700-1000 words for feature articles and 400700 words for short articles.

Founded in 1992, Sacramento Parent has become the largest and oldest locally owned parenting publication in Northern California. Pays: $25 to $45 for reprints and $50 to $200 for original articles. Length: 300-500 words for short articles and 600-900 words for medium-length articles.

Raising Arizona Kids is targeted to caring, open-minded and intellectually curious Arizona parents within the 25-59 age range. Feature articles run from 1,000 to 3,000 words in length. Parents & Kids Magazine is a resource for busy families providing real-life solutions, sound advice, creative ideas, and practical information to make their lives easier. Word length: 700 words/article. Payment starts at $25/article.

The purpose of MomSense magazine is to connect and encourage mothers of preschoolers from a Christian perspective with articles that inform and inspire on issues relating to being a mother and a woman. Most articles published in MOMSense Magazine are one page with 450 words. MomSense buys first rights to material.
