American Angler magazine

American Angler is devoted exclusively to fly fishing. We focus mainly on coldwater fly fishing for trout, steelhead, and salmon, but we also run articles about warmwater and saltwater fly fishing. Feature stories of 1,500 to 2,200 words. Feature articles pay $450 (and perhaps a bit more if were impressed), while short features pay $200 to $400. Generally, these rates assume that useful photos, drawings, or sketches accompany the words.

Eastern Fly Fishing magazine

Eastern Fly Fishing magazine is a destination specific publication to be viewed as an inspiring, collectible reference of Eastern angling destinations. Feature article length ranges from 2,000 to 4,000 words. Eastern Fly Fishing buys first North American serial publication rights for both a printed, and digital version of the magazine. Pays up to $500/article.

Fly Fusion magazine (Canada)

Fly Fusion Magazine is Canada’s most widely read fly-fishing magazine and one of the most relevant publications on the market for the angling community. Feature articles should be approximately 3000 3500 words. We pay up to $400 CAD for features with corresponding images, up to $300 for photo essays and up to $150 for shorter pieces such as “Fly Tiers Table.” All payments are issued Net 60 of publication.

Fly Tyer Magazine

Fly Tyer is only a quarterly magazine, and it is the largest publication in the world dedicated solely to fly tying. Feature articles describing new flies for catching trout, bass, panfish, and saltwater species across the country and around the world. We buy first-time print, electronic, and in-house marketing rights to articles and photos, and payment is made upon publication. Feature articles pay $450.
