For feature stories, please send a specific story proposal–including the topic, an outline of the story’s scope, the angle from which you will approach the subject, and proposed sources. Feature stories usually range in length from 1,200 to 2,000 words. We sometimes run short features–around 500 or 600 words. Payment ranges in amount depending on the writer’s experience.
