New Mexico Business Magazine to Debut in May

Vertical Ascent, LLC is launching a new statewide business magazine called New Mexico Business Magazine. The new magazine is aimed at CEOs, high level business executives, managers, owners of small businesses and others in the business community. The magazine will focus on issues important to New Mexico's growing business community.
New Mexico Business Magazine replaces the New Mexico Business Journal which ceased operations earlier this year. While not related to the New Mexico Business Journal, the magazine is published by Doug Stine who was editor-in-chief for the Business Journal. Mr. Stine has also taken over the subscriber list of the Business Journal.

SKY & TELESCOPE Appoints Robert P. Naeye Editor-in-Chief

SKY & TELESCOPE magazine, the iconic publisher of astronomy periodicals and books, announced today that it has appointed Robert P. Naeye to the position of Editor-in-Chief, succeeding Richard Tresch Fienberg, PhD, who will retire from the magazine this summer.
Mr. Naeye joins Sky & Telescope from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, where he has been serving as Senior Science Writer in the Astrophysics Science Division since February 2007. In accepting the position, Mr. Naeye becomes only the fifth Editor-in-Chief of the magazine in nearly 70 years. Dr. Fienberg has spent nearly 22 years with SKY & TELESCOPE, serving in various positions, including 8 years as Editor-in-Chief.

Forbes will launch of ForbesLife MountainTime, a new lifestyle publication targeted at the nation's top tier of consumers in the Rocky Mountain region. The publication will be distributed regionally through local newspapers in the U.S.' most affluent ski areas. Its Publisher is Don Welsh, a 30-year veteran of magazine publishing, and its Editor is Philip Armour. ForbesLife MountainTime is scheduled to launch July 4, 2008.
Editorial content of ForbesLife MountainTime will focus on each area's local personalities, home design, the latest sporting equipment and upcoming events in the region. Every issue will include at least two pages of editorial and two pages of advertising specific to that market.

Stephen Colagiuri has been named the new Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, effective April 1, 2008. Professor Colagiuri takes over from Professor Nigishi Hotta who has been acting as Editor-in-Chief since 2004 and now becomes an Honorary Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, the official journal of the International Diabetes Federation/Western Pacific Region.

Steve DeLuca has been named Vice President & Publisher of Details. The appointment is effective immediately.
Mr. DeLuca has worked in senior roles at a number of Condé Nast publications, most recently serving as Associate Publisher of Condé Nast Traveler. Previously, he was Associate Publisher of Maxim, Publisher of Rolling Stone, and Associate Publisher of Vanity Fair and InStyle. Earlier in his career at Condé Nast he was in sales management at Gourmet and Details, and was as an advertising salesperson at Brides. Steve began his career in publishing as a sales representative at the Staten Island Advance.

Michelle Preli has been named Editor in Chief of Brides.com. Her appointment is effective immediately.
Before joining Conde Nast, Ms. Preli had been the Vice President of Editorial Programming at NBC's iVillage.com. Prior to that, she was General Manager of Newsweek's BudgetTravel.com.
Before that, Ms. Preli spent 10 years at MSNBC.com, where she was part of the team that launched the news site. There, she became Executive Producer of TV News Co-productions, overseeing the Web sites for the Today show, Nightly News with Brian Williams, Dateline NBC, and Meet the Press.
Ms. Preli holds four Clarion Awards in online journalism from The Association for Women in Communications.
