Road Bike Action Magazine will expand to nine issues
by noreply@blogger.com (Brian Scott)
2 Nov 2008 at 5:36am

Road Bike Action will have a fresh copy out to readers every 30 days starting with the 2009 Tour of California issue and then for the following six months, to be followed by three bi-monthly issues in the fall.

The magazine's expansion to nine issues in 2009 is a testament to Road Bike Action Magazine's commitment not only to its readers but also to its loyal advertisers. These additional issues will support the increase in demand for Road Bike Action Magazine and take advantage of the aggressive push that its new distributor, Curtis Circulation Company (the largest distributor of magazines in the U.S. and Canada), has put in place with Road Bike Action.

Road Bike Magazine's newsstand growth is exceeding all projections, and Curtis has just increased the number of newsstand outlets displaying RBA by another 25-percent, beginning with the January 2009 issue (which is printing this week). The magazine's paid subscriber base has exceeded 10,000 copies, with a very high percentage of renewal subscriptions.

Singular magazine Hits Regional Newsstands
by noreply@blogger.com (Brian Scott)
28 Sep 2008 at 7:03am

Singular magazine, created to serve Los Angeles' fast growing demographic of affluent unmarried adults, has hit regional newsstands and 63,000 households. Along with its companion website SingularCity.com, the magazine delivers an editorial voice that validates what it calls the "singular" lifestyle, recognizing being single as a satisfying, enjoyable lifestyle.

Differentiating itself from other singles-oriented brands, Singular's goal is to position the unmarried status as a positive and fulfilling way-of-life and will embrace and speak to this large, fast-growing, successful group in a way that celebrates their life style rather than trying to "fix it."

Singular magazine is the ultimate "good life" guide for unmarried adults over 30 with household incomes over $100,000. The look of the 140-page glossy premiere issue says sophisticated, sexy and savvy -- as well as friendly, inviting, warm and fun. SingularCity.com offers a virtual community for "singulars" that includes social networking functionality with personal profiles, forums, blogs, special interest groups and a calendar of events and activities.

Singular Communications was launched by freelance journalist Kim Calvert and financier, publisher David Wright. Calvert and Wright are debuting both SingularCity.com and the launch of Singular magazine and local SingularCity events in Los Angeles. Calvert is responsible for overseeing the editorial content and securing high profile contributors. She is also responsible for setting and maintaining the fun, upbeat and often humorous tone of the magazine. Working alongside Calvert is Art Director Carol Wakano; Contributing Editor Marva Marrow; Photo Editor Valerie Bassett, and Associate Publishers Richard Blackledge and Bradford Stauffer.
