• USDF Connection magazine - USDF Connection publishes freelance-written features, health articles, personality profiles, how-to training articles, and first-person accounts of life in the dressage world. All articles must focus on USDF programs or members or on dressage. We are particularly interested in expanding our coverage of adult amateur riders and including the "amateur angle" in the stories we publish. Payment is made upon acceptance and ranges from $40 to $400, depending on the scope, complexity, and quality of the piece. • Young Rider Magazine - Young Rider is an equestrian magazine for young riders which teaches them how to ride and look after their horses properly. It offers riding instruction, horse care information and horse interest features. Sometimes buys 800-1,000 word “horsey interest” type stories. Stories or events that will interest kids ALL over the country. The pay is about $200 for those types of stories. We do buy short stories (approximately 800-1,000 words) for about $150.
