Writer's Guidelines:
  • Sailing Magazine - SAILING Magazine is a beautiful, oversized publication that is visually stunning as well as an informative and enjoyable read. We cover all aspects of sailing, from learning how to sail in a dinghy to crossing the ocean on a large cruiser to racing around the buoys against the best sailors in the world. We typically focus on sailing in places that are realistic destinations for our readers, but will occasionally feature an outstanding and unique sailing destination. We pay for first-time North American rights. Payment is after publication and is based on how large and in what format an article runs, varying $50 to $500 for stories and $50 to $500 for photos (Added: 30-Dec-2010 Hits: 341 Rating: 0 Votes: 0) | Detail | Visit Website | Rate It
  • Wooden Boat magazine - WoodenBoat is the bi-monthly magazine for wooden boat owners, builders, and designers. Unlike any other periodical in our field, we are devoted exclusively to the design, building, care, preservation, and use of wooden boats, both commercial and pleasure, old and new, sail and power. WoodenBoat publishes approximately 60 feature articles a year, from many parts of the world. Many are unsolicited, submitted by both amateur and professional writers. Payment is based on the form and complexity of the submission. For example, we pay $5 for a newspaper clipping; $10 to $15 for a newspaper clipping with a few words of comment from the contributor; $20 to $25 for a moderately detailed report. Short features are paid for on a per-word basis. Photographs and line art are paid for at the rate of $15 apiece. (Added: 30-Dec-2010 Hits: 1289 Rating: 0 Votes: 0) | Detail | Visit Website | Rate It
  • Yachting Monthly magazine - We accept cruising narratives about sailing almost anywhere in the world, from Solent to Scotland and from Burnham on Crouch to Bora Bora. We also accept practical and technical articles on all aspects of seamanship, navigation, the handling of small craft, and their design, construction and equipment. With magazine page lengths of approximately 450 words, you should aim for 450, 900, 1,350 or 1,800 words, depending on the strength and breadth of interest of the subject. Humour is best at 900 or 1,350. Pure cruising features should not exceed 1,800. Fees for text may only be an estimate before the article is designed and we know how many illustrations have to be bought in, or whether we rely exclusively on the author's photos. Payment is on publication. (Added: 7-Jul-2009 Hits: 466 Rating: 0 Votes: 0) | Detail | Visit Website | Rate It
