June 15, 2009 ) - Entries are being accepted for the Construction
Writers Associations2009 Marketing Communications Awards. The
annual awards, in their ninth year, recognize an important aspect of
construction writers effortsmarketing communications, including
advertising, corporate communications and public relations. The deadline for
entries is Friday, August 14, 2009, according to this years chairman,
Michael Anderson, of Construction Equipment magazine.
The competition
is open to any construction industry-related individual, corporation,
association, advertising agency/PR firm or publication submitting a completed
entry form along with a $125 entry fee.
Entries, which must have been
produced between January 1, 2008 and the submission deadline, will be divided
into four classifications:
Advertisingincludes single ads,
campaigns, and advertorial supplements
Corporate
Communicationsincludes annual reports, brochures, internal newsletters,
video/multimedia, direct mail (single piece or campaign), corporate identify,
trade show exhibits, and proposals/presentations
External
Newsletterssingle newsletter or series of related issues covering a
single topic (T. Randolph Russell Award)
Public Relationsincludes
PR campaigns, media kits, and special events. Entries will be judged on the
basis of the following criteria:
Graphic design (25%) Editorial
content (25%)
Effectiveness in achieving the stated marketing and
communications goals (50%)
Judging will be conducted by an impartial
panel of people with acknowledged expertise in marketing communications. The
winners will be presented awards at the CWA Grand Awards Dinner which will be
held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, during CWAs Fall Conference in Chicago,
Illinois. The two day conference will be held at the Hilton Suites Chicago on
the Magnificent Mile on October 5-7, 2009.
