( Added: April 29, 2008 ) - The National Association of Baby Boomer Women (www.NABBW.com) and
www.boomerwomenspeak.com, have joined forces with GRAND Magazine
(www.grandmagazine.com) to offer to a first-ever Favorite Grandparent Memory
writing contest. Teamed with GRAND Magazine, the NABBW has opened the contest to
boomer-age men and women alike.
The winner of the Favorite Grandparent Memory contest will receive $250 and a
free membership (or free renewal) in the National Association of Baby Boomer Women
(Should a man win, he can keep the $250 and give the free membership to a boomer
woman.) Additionally, the winning story will appear in the Our Voices section at
www.boomerwomenspeak.com, a sister Web site of the NABBW. It will be published in
the September/October issue of GRAND Magazine!
According to Dotsie Bregel, founder of the NABBW, We know everyone has a
favorite story tucked away about their Granny, or Poppa. With boomers embracing
grandparenting, we thought it would be fun to consider what we boomers enjoyed most
about our own grandparents.
Bregel expects entries to come from all over the world. With this contest, we
could very well experience the largest number of entries ever, and we welcome them all!
Entries can be submitted to contest@nabbw.com with FAVORITE
GRANDPARENT MEMORY in the subject line. Entries must be 500 words or less and
must be sent as an attachment in a Word document by July 1, 2008. Contestants should
include their name, email address and a short bio (no more than 75 words) at the top of
the attached Word document entry.
