June 1, 2009 ) - The Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) is
accepting entries for its Fall 2009 showcase. Films in any genre, including
feature films, documentaries, short films, Hawaii-themed films, music
videos, and student films are being accepted.
Films must have been
completed after January 1, 2008. Work that has had commercial, theatrical, or
television play in the U.S., and feature films that have had any public or
festival screenings in Hawai`i, are ineligible.
The festival will run
from Thursday, October 15 to Sunday October 25, 2009. Entry deadline is July 6,
2009 (final). Entry fees range from $20-$70. Films one to 40 minutes in length
are considered Short Films. Films 41 minutes or more are considered Feature
Films. Our short film categories include Narrative Short, Documentary Short,
Pacific Panorama Short, Made in Hawaii, Student under 18, and Music Videos.
