Cash Prizes Awarded in Carl Marks Student Paper Competition
reported by FreelanceWriting.com

( Added: March 1, 2010 )  - Turnaround Management Association, the premier association for corporate renewal and turnaround management professionals, is accepting entries for the Carl Marks Student Paper Competition until June 1 at 5 p.m. CST.

Begun in 2003 to recognize outstanding graduate-level student achievement in the field, the awards program is made possible through the financial support of Carl Marks Advisory Group, LLC, in New York. It awards a $3,000 first-place prize and a $1,500 second-place prize in two categories: turnaround case analysis and theoretical/conceptual aspects of turnarounds.

"Carl Marks is pleased to support the study of corporate turnarounds and restructuring through our sponsorship of the TMA paper competition," said Mark L. Claster, president of Carl Marks & Co. Inc. "We welcome the opportunity to contribute to the training of the next generation of restructuring professionals."

One author of each winning paper will receive registration and travel expenses to accept awards at the TMA 2010 Annual Convention, Oct. 6-8, at the J. W. Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida.

Qualifying students must have been enrolled in and attending an MBA program or equivalent business-related master's degree program at an accredited university at the time the paper was written. Submitted papers must have been completed between May 30, 2009 and May 31, 2010.

"This competition presents an ideal way for students to explore their interest in careers in turnaround management and distressed investing," said James Wallack, TMA vice president of university relations and a director at Goulston & Storrs in Boston. "In the current environment, this industry is at the forefront of finding solutions to critical business challenges."
