HubPages Announces Health-Themed Writing Contest for March

( Added: March 1, 2010 )  - HubPages.com, the most rewarding place to publish and discover topical content, today announced the launch of the Helpful Health Hubs contest. Anyone can participate. Starting on March 1st, participants, both HubPages veterans and those new to the site, will write topical articles (called 'Hubs'), presenting useful information in the realm of health and wellness. Prizes worth over $3,000 will be awarded throughout the month.

In addition to a daily drawing for a $50 prize, writers will compete weekly for prizes of $100: one winner will be selected by a panel of three judges, and another will be selected by vote in a poll hosted on the health page (http://hubpages.com/topics/health/2155). In addition, a grand prize winner will be selected at the conclusion of the contest for a prize of $1,000.

Judging the contest are three respected authorities in the domain of health and wellness: Hemi Weingarten, co-founder of Fooducate; George Guerin, health and fitness blogger for the Newark Star-Ledger and owner of PPTS Wellness; and Tom Held, reporter at the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and blogger at the paper's Off the Couch fitness blog.

"We're excited to host another writing contest," said HubPages general manager Paul Deeds. "We've had great success with contests in the past and hope this topically-focused contest will be just as rewarding for online writers. We look forward to high-quality, informative Hubs on the topics of health and wellness."

The Helpful Health Hubs contest begins at noon (PT) Monday, March 1 and will accept submissions according to a daily topic calendar through March 28. Interested participants should visit the HubPages health topic page starting March 1 for eligibility requirements and the official rules.
