My short story writing process will be different than your process; but here is a general approach to writing a short story. Although the process has just 11 steps, a writer may spend weeks writing a story from start to finish.

We have seven charts called "My Shory Story Writing Process." We hope our charts inspire you. Each chart is identical, except for the color scheme. To view a chart, simply click on it. The chart will open in your browser. You can print out our chart. It will fit on a standard 8.5" x 11" (or larger) paper. Print in "landscape" format so the chart extends the length of the paper.

You can also "right-click" on any full-size image and save it to your computer or iPad/iPod.
