Frank Sinatra Has a ColdKate Sullivan interviews Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author, Mr. Gay Talese. Author of many novels, Talese worked for the New York Times and contributed many feature articles to Esquire magazine, including the infamous piece titled, "Frank Sinatra Has a Cold."

Gay Talese (born February 7, 1932) is an American author. He wrote for The New York Times in the early 1960s and helped to define literary journalism. His most famous articles are about Joe DiMaggio, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. Talese is a visiting writer at the Master of Professional Writing Program at the University of Southern California each spring.

Talese remains active in the Italian American community, including the National Italian American Foundation, which hosted a writer's series in his name. He has been an outspoken advocate for more Italian Americans to pursue careers in writing and editing.
