Writing sitcoms is not the easiest of tasks, and is especially hard for a new writer to break into. If you feel that this is where your talent lies, then it's a good idea to tape some of your favorite sitcoms and watch them over several times. Write notes on how they are done. Take particular notice of the story line, the balance between visual and verbal jokes and the structure of the scenes. Count how many times you laughed per segment.
